Applications of Home Automation in Livingston
Perhaps the most important question that homeowners ask is what home automation can actually do. It doesn’t make sense to pursue it if there are no benefits to the homeowner. There are presently many different applications for home automation, with more coming down the pipeline in the future. One of the most common applications is for lighting and being able to control all of the lights in your home with a single interface.
Controlling your lighting can include such things as turning lights on automatically at a preset time, or even being able to turn off all of the lights in your home with a single button. Along with your lighting is your HVAC system and keeping control of the environment in your home. We have had programmable thermostats, but this takes it another step forward. You can have a learning thermostat that is also accessible remotely.
Many homes have irrigation systems that help to keep the property looking its best. However, if your lawn is getting rained, there is no need the use the irrigation system. You can add monitoring devices that tie into your home automation system to help minimize the use of water at times when the soil moisture is adequate.

The township was named for William Livingston, the first Governor of New Jersey; his family’s coat of arms served as the township’s seal for many years. Livingston owned land around today’s southwestern corner of the Township of Livingston. After the American Revolutionary War, more permanent settlements took place with the first school built in 1783. In 1811, a petition was filed to incorporate the township of about 100 people who lived in seven distinct areas.
